John Ryan

John Ryan began his teaching career in 1994 and has served as the principal of St. Mary Catholic School since 2024. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies and Secondary Education with a minor in Mathematics from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, followed by a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah. Before joining St. Mary, John taught at Rawlins High School in Wyoming from 1994 to 1999 and at Valley High School in Gilcrest, Colorado, from 1999 to 2024. John and his wife, Molly, are the proud parents of three St. Mary alumni: Bridget (Class of 2017), Liam (Class of 2018), and Mary (Class of 2020). He especially enjoys watching St. Mary students grow in their faith and academics and getting into the classroom to teach math from time to time. As John likes to say, after God, math is the most important thing.
