What are the school hours?

The school day begins at 8:15am (your child may be dropped off at 8:00am) and ends at 3:30pm for all students kindergarten through eighth grade. Our Before Care is available from 7:00-8:00am and the After Care is available from 3:30-5:30pm.

How many students attend St. Mary Catholic School? How many classes are in each grade?

In grades Preschool-8, approximately 210 students are enrolled. We are a one-track school with one classroom per grade, creating a small, family-like community.

Do the students wear uniforms?

Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade wear uniforms. The uniform guidelines can be viewed in the Parent/Student Handbook. The uniforms can be purchased through Dennis Uniforms and Lands’ End. The students wear a special “Mass” uniform to weekly Mass on Wednesday.

Is a hot lunch program offered?

A hot lunch program is offered to the students through the services of District 6. Lunches can be purchased on a monthly basis. The monthly lunch menu is sent directly to current families.

Does St. Mary provide transportation?

No, parents are responsible for the transportation of their students to and from school. Our families often join carpools to share the responsibility of getting to and from school during the week when coming from a distance. However, we suggest contacting St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnstown as they offer transportation services for certain routes. For Fort Lupton families, please contact St. William Catholic Church regarding their school bus route.

How do I inform the school if my child is sick?

Call the school office at 970-353-8100 or email us at
admin.assistant@stmarycs.net by 9:00 AM and leave a message with your
name, your child’s name, the teacher’s name, and the reason for the absence.

Are your teachers certified? Is the school accredited?

All teachers are certified. St. Mary Catholic School is accredited by the North Central Association.

Do you offer any extra curricular activities?

St. Mary Catholic School offers Student Council, Chess Club, Choir, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, and Track & Field.

Do we need to be Catholic to attend St. Mary Catholic School?

St. Mary welcomes students of all backgrounds, both religious and non-religious upbringings.

Is tuition assistance available to all students?

Tuition assistance is available to all families that qualify through our partners: Seeds of Hope and Ace Scholarships.The St. Mary Endowment Fund and Adopt-an-Angel are also available to qualifying families.

What is the birthday guideline for students entering kindergarten?

St. Mary adheres to the Archdiocese of Denver cutoff date. A child that is 5 on or before October 1st may enter kindergarten.

What "specials" are offered to the students?

Students are offered classes in art, physical education, library, and Spanish.
