If a rule is not followed, there will be a consequence. The first consequence is to move their worm from the green apple (where we start new each day) down to the yellow apple. At the end of the week, if the child has stayed on the green apple and not moved down to the yellow or red apples, they get to choose a prize from our basket on Friday. If the student continues to make the choice not to follow the above classroom rules, they will be asked to move away from the group (sit with their head down at their desk or on the wall at recess). If the student continues to break the classroom rules, the final and strongest consequence, is that the child will sit out for an entire recess or center time. If it comes to this final consequence, I will be communicating with parents about the student’s choices that caused them to miss out, via note home or an email if time does not permit.
