• The Pledge Sheet should be used to track your sponsors and how much they have pledged to donate.
• Start recording your minutes on Monday, October 3rd on the Reading Logs.
• No guessing minutes! – Use the clock or a stopwatch to clock your minutes.
• The Home Reading Logs must be used to keep track of your reading minutes at home.
  • Parents must sign the Home Reading Log to assure fairness.
• The IN-CLASS Reading Logs must be used to keep track of your reading minutes at school.
  • Teachers must sign the Reading Log to assure fairness.
  • These minutes will be added to the Home Reading Log to get Total Reading Minutes.
• All pledge sheets, Money Raised and reading logs must be turned in by Friday, November 4th.

What Minutes Count?
1. Reading before and after school and during recess.
2. Free time reading in the classroom. (Recorded on In-Class Reading Log)
3. Other people reading aloud to you.
4. Reading aloud to other people (you can read to a fellow student or sibling and minutes count for BOTH students!)
5. Reading aloud to the cat, dog, or even pet goldfish counts!
6. Reading in a tree, on the bus, in the car, on an airplane, even under the bedcovers with a flashlight
counts!
7. Assigned reading for homework and book reports (outside of class-time)
8. Reading comic books, newspapers, and magazines
9. Reading in another language
10. Audio books

Reading that doesn’t count:
1. Reading before the official start of the Read-A-Thon
2. Reading after the end of the Read-A-Thon
3. Assigned reading during class time
4. Reading you haven’t done but think you will do in the future
