This week we will complete our work with area and perimeter of rectangles and composite figures in Chapter 12 of Math in Focus. Our Chapter 12 test is planned for Friday.
Please continue to review basic multiplication and division facts with your child at home. Fluency with these facts is essential to your child's success in math!Not knowing basic math facts is to math
as not knowing letter sounds is to reading!
Your child will have math homework each evening to review the day's lesson. I expect that math homework will take about 10 to 15 minutes. If your child is spending over 15 minutes on nightly math homework, please contact me.
I expect that students have mastered multiplication facts when they begin fourth grade. If your child needs to work on basic addition, subtraction, or multiplication, please work with your child at home. Automatic knowledge of these facts is essential to your child's success in fourth grade math.
