Be respectful at all times to all people. God is always present.
Be in your assigned seat, quiet, and ready to begin your work when 8:15 bell rings. Bring all materials to class.
Talking is not acceptable when someone else is talking or presenting.
Hands are to be kept to yourselves at all times.
Listen to and follow teacher directions, oral and written.
Ask questions if you do not understand what is expected or you need more explanation.
If you disagree with any decision, please address your concerns after class. I am happy to discuss any situation or concern with you privately on a one-to-one basis. If you need to speak with me, afterschool is best. I check Fast Direct everyday several times and will try to get back with you the same day. Assignments Quality is what I expect. I hope to instill pride in all assigned work and that maximum effort is applied. I expect proper headings on all work. The students have a folder for each subject and are expected to take notes when I am giving instructions. Students may or may not use notes during assessments. This is at my discretion. Taking notes keep students engaged and focused. Students in afterschool, extra-curricular activities are expected to turn in all assigned work on time. I do not assign homework if I have not taught the subject or concept. I do not assign homework on the weekend unless it is absolutely necessary. The weekends are family time. I do not do parties in my classroom. If your child would like to bring in a healthy treat for their birthday, I will allow that and we can sing happy birthday to celebrate their special day. At Christmas I focus on giving rather than receiving and usually do a service project at that time. I will communicate through Fast-Direct or feel free to call and leave me a message if you have questions or concerns. Please contact me directly if you have a concern. Fifth grade is a transitional year. The students are getting ready to go to middles school and I will do whatever I can to make them successful as they transition.
