*ECONOMICS: Explore the development of transportation and the rise of technology; Discuss economic effects of industrialization; Identify cause and effect of the Great Depression and the 1929 stock market crash; Examine trade and the world market today
*CIVICS: Explain the workings of the two party system; Discuss social issues involved in the civil rights movements; Describe the influence of political systems in the history of the United States
*HISTORY: List characteristics of the Civil War and Reconstruction and define it’s impact on the US; Explain the effects of industrialization in the US; Explore the establishment and growth of political parties; Examine the causes and effects of wars in history after the Reconstruction (Spanish-American, WW1, WW2, Korean conflict, etc.); Discuss the struggle for racial and gender equality and civil liberties
*SOCIAL/RELIGIOUS PERSPECTIVES: Explain the purpose of the United Nations; Describe impacts of US Foreign Policy; Explain and defend human dignity from being created by God
