The 8th grade patron saint is St. Michael the Archangel. Our students pray this powerful prayer at the end of every school day and at the end of every school Mass. Prayer is woven into every part of our school day. We begin with morning prayer; we pray before and after meals, we pray after recess, before all tests, and at the end of the day. The 7th and 8th graders write" OSJ,OSM " on all their assignments. This stands for "Oh suffering Jesus, Oh sorrowful Mary." We pledge to give our best effort in everything that we do for the glory of God and to honor the Blessed Mother; the patroness of our school. Many students come back to St. Mary telling us that they still write this little spiritual reminder on all their high school assignments. As one walks the halls of the school, you get a very distinct sense of joy, rigorous academics, and a true devotion to Jesus Christ and His blessed mother. Our school is indeed unique and the lifelong lessons that are instilled into our students follow them their entire lives.
